FUT(Follicular Unit Transplant)

According to this method, hair follicles are taken with a strip, followed by shear – separation of hair, so that several one-string and two-string hair follicles are extracted or prepared.



Immediately after that, Trichophytic Closure is applied to the area, i.e. closure of the incision in the donor area by removing 1mm of epithelium from the neighboring hair follicles. In this way, we achieve the sprouting of hair through the scar line that arises, and as a result, it cannot be detected even by ourselves. Besides, through trichophytic closure, a minor change in the direction of sprouting of neighboring hair follicles is achieved – it becomes more vertical by 10 degrees – resulting in a better coverage of the area.

Finally, we can expressly assure you that, regardless of the selected method of taking hair follicles, there is not going to be any scar at all in the donor area, right from the beginning of the hair implantation, to the final sprouting of hair follicles.

We draw on the recipient area and especially the front temporal line (Front line), in such a way that hair sprouting is not visible when it occurs, but in a completely natural way, and in conjunction with the angle of placement.

The hair follicles, depending on the number of hair strings that they contain, are placed in different areas. During the separation of the hair follicles, meticulous counting is performed, one-by-one, as well as classification, according to the number of hair strings that they contain.

Their placement is performed according to the area to be covered, by following and imitating the rules that apply in nature. E.g. single hair follicles are all used in the frontal line or in the middle of the top area, because they give a sense of a completely natural appearance, which is required for these areas, as well as an image of transition to the immediately denser adjacent area. It would be pointless to be placed anywhere else, since they would not add hair volume to an area closer to the center, as we wish to.

 In the technique that we apply, we use selected hair follicle groups, in selected incidents, and in specific areas, like, for example, at the center of an area to be covered. These hair follicle groups strictly consist of no more than 2 hair follicles, separation is performed in the microscope again, and they allow us to increase hair volume in the area that they are placed.

With the necessary assistance of microscopes, the skin tissue is divided into the hair follicles that it contains. This process requires special skill and precision, because the hair follicles are biologically sensitive units, and attention needs to be paid in order for their structure and functionality to remain intact.

Therefore, it has to be implemented exclusively by expert and trained nursing staff.

After that, the hair follicles are subjected to the necessary processing, in order for them to be ready for transplantation. As we have stated above, the use of microscopes is required in hair transplantation, because it allows the full & maximum utilization of the extracted continuous tissue, and therefore, ensures the integrity & viability of hair follicles.

After the completion of the process of closure, sockets are created for the hair follicles in the recipient area, in which they will be transplanted.

In order to create the sockets, certain specifications are adhered to, concerning their size and the distance between them. The holes are small in order for them not to disturb the elasticity and microcirculation of the area, ensuring in this way proper sprouting, nourishment & growth conditions for new hair, while, at the same time, protecting the already sprouting hair follicles, in case of making the area denser.

This meticulous and considered arrangement of hair follicles per cm2 is very important to both the natural appearance of the result, and the achievement of maximum density.  

Hair transplantation lasts a couple of hours, during which, food or coffee breaks are scheduled, while you can talk to the medical team, watch TV or just relax.


After the placement of all the hair follicles, the patient is given instructions for the days to follow, e.g. washing the area on the next day and taking precautionary medication, while he or she leaves, wearing a hat for protection. Normally, he or she can return to his or her daily activities, with the only exception of abstaining from vigorous physical exercise for 2-3 days.
The stitches from the occipital zone are removed by our nurse, or any nursing staff or physician outside our area and for incidents that leave Athens, within about 10 days.


Excellent methodology is applied to all incidents, excluding those which do not have elasticity from a previous implementation of hair transplantation, and especially for severe incidents which require a high number of hair follicles.

 The FUT hair transplantation technique is implemented through mass extraction of hair follicles from the Zone of Stable Hair Growth (back of the head), and their transplantation to the recipient thinning area.  

The FUT (Strip ) - Trichophytic Closure method is distinguished for the following features:

1. Painless operation, with the highest number of hair follicles that can be pulled out from the scalp during a single session.

  1. Relatively painless postoperative progress (it normally concerns mild disturbance, which is treated with common painkillers).  

    3. A special technique (Trichophytic Closure) to close the donor area, in order not to cause a scar in the area of removal (the familiar “smile” at the back, caused by older techniques).

  2. Minimization of postoperative oedema: In the past, a rate of the persons who underwent hair transplantation showed postoperative temporary frontal oedema; currently, however, this oedema appears in the rarest of cases (yet, the possibility for it to appear always remains).

    5.Lower cost, in terms of the number of hair follicles, and less time, with the highest number of hair follicles.
    New hair growth:

    New hair grows naturally, immediately after its transplantation, and in 3-5 months we have visible results, which are completed in 10 – 12 months. The transplanted hair grows just like the other hair and remains forever, while you can wash it, have it cut, and apply to it any type of hairdressing treatment, since it is no different than the other hair.
